Night-Time Skin Essentials

Night-Time Skin Essentials

You know what the best part is about doing your makeup? Being able to take it off at the end of the day and do your night-time skincare routine. Even when I don’t wear makeup during the day, I still push myself to complete my routine at least four times a week. I love the way my skins feels and glows once I’ve completed it. Plus I always get compliments on how good my skin looks so I’ve decided to share my 8-step process, my favorite products to use and how I use them. Cool? Okay so boom…

1. Kiehls Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil:

Combats uneven skin tone, dullness and dryness

This is a cleanser based oil that helps removes makeup. It’s usually what I use instead of makeup wipes when I’m ready to wash off my beat of the day. I also use it as a first step cleanser even without makeup. Plus, it smells amazing due to the botanicals. It combats dullness, dryness and uneven texture. Good for normal and dry skin types.

2. Tatcha The Deep Exfoliating Cleanser

Combats uneven texture, dullness and oiliness

Now this is my holy grail cleanser. I LOVE this product so much. It’s a gel cleanser with natural fruit exfoliant. It unclogs your pores while hydrating your skin and keeping it soft. This is the second step of my skin regimen. It’s good for normal, oily, combination and sensitive skin types.

3. Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask

Combats redness and dryness

This gel mask is the third step of my regimen. It helps soothe, hydrate, detoxify and refresh my skin. It’s also good for people who have redness or dry skin. I always put it in the refrigerator after I finish using it. Though it’s super cold, it feels amazing when you put it on your skin and when you wash it off (in cool water). It works for all skin types.

4. Fresh Vitamin Nectar Antioxidant Face Mist

The fourth step. Basically used for extra hydration and refreshing after I dry my face off. It has multivitamins that give your skin a brightening boost. Works for normal, dry, oily and combination skin.

5. Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum

My favorite serum to use at night. Packed with vitamin B5 that replenishes while improving the look of skin tone and texture. Works well for normal, oily, dry, and combination skin.

6. Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado

Combats dryness

This is usually the eye cream I use with my morning regimen but I haven’t found anything that worked for me at night at the moment so I just incorporate it with my night-time care. It’s good for hydration and protection (not sure what it protects but it works lol) for the under eye. Good for normal, oily, dry, combination and sensitive skin.

7. Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate

Combats dullness, dryness and uneven skin tone

Now this is my favorite product ever. I rave about this to everyone when I talk about what works for my skin. It leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth, its amazing. It’s a night-time oil that restores and hydrates. Works for normal, dry and combination skin.

8. Murad Night Fix Enzyme Treatment

Combats dryness, fine lines and wrinkles, dullness and uneven texture

The final step of my skincare routine. This is an overnight treatment that helps to fight the look of sleep deprivation, dryness and lack of radiance. Works for normal, dry, oily and combination skin. Afterwards I’ll put on lip balm and lipgloss to top it off, depending on how long I’m staying up.

So there you have it my loves, those are my favorite night time essentials to use to complete my 8-step skin regimen. Most of the products used are focused on hydration and uneven skin tone. But you know I have to put some disclaimers:

  1. I have combination skin (combo-dry) which means that I get oily in some areas but mostly my skin is dry, hence why most of the products I use are for adding hydration or there oils/oil based.

  2. I do use a moisturizer too but it changes more often than these products so I left them out, didn’t want this to be super long.

  3. Since it is summer time, I try not to use a thick moisturizer since again, I have combo-dry skin. In the winter, I use a thicker/heavier one.

  4. The prices: Okay skincare is expensive, but I’ve learned at my last job that taking care of my skin, especially since I live in such a polluted city, is very important. So I suck it up and hope my wallet forgives me. Also some of these items were given to me.

  5. This routine works for ME. These products work for ME. If there are products here that you’ve tried or want to try and didn't/don’t work, that is okay. Everyone’s skin is different. But if you are interested, please do your research on the products and pay attention to your skin.

Okay, this was very very long but I’m glad I’m able to share it with you all. If you have any questions, comments, concerns please feel free to leave a comment or an email. I love discussions lol. Thank you for reading and remember take care of your skin.
